Restaurante Covas

Stepping into Restaurant Covas on a weekday evening, we were surprised to find it bustling with activity. Luckily, we snagged a table in the back room, perfect for a more intimate dining experience. Craving fresh seafood, we opted for the torados and octopus, both of which were excellent. The dishes were not only delicious but also generous, featuring ample portions of perfectly cooked vegetables – the potatoes and beans were a standout! To complement our meal, we enjoyed refreshing cold beers and explored their selection of local wines. The restaurant itself boasts a charming décor, creating a relaxed and warm atmosphere. Service was both friendly and attentive, ensuring a delightful dining experience.

We had been here many years ago and tried "Canja de Garoupa" for the first time. We loved it so much that it stayed with us and we even learned how to cook it at home. Now we were close by and decided to revisit the restaurant. It looks more modern, I believe they renovated it, but they still had the dish "canja de garoupa" and we order it again, it took around 30m to prepare and the portion is huge but still good. Of course now we have tried it at home many times so we can compare it better to our own efforts :) still got it. Worth a visit
